WET WEATHER EQUALIZATION BASIN

City of Pacifica

This contract was comprised of the construction of a wet weather equalization (EQ) basin, two diversion structures, new gravity sewer conveyance piping installed by open trench and by bore and jack methods, as well as new force main sewer conveyance pipeline. The project also consisted of constructing the ancillary equipment associated with the EQ basin including a motor control center (MCC) building, a  ventilation and odor-control system, and a potable-water-supplied cleaning system within the EQ basin.

CARISBROOK RESERVOIR AND SKYLINE PUMPING PLANT

East Bay Municipal Utility District

This project required work to be performed by SMCI at various tank sites. First, the installation of a steel temporary tank at the Round Top Location. Next, SMCI istalled solar actuated valve at the Huckleberry Reserve location. Demolition of the roof of the existing tank also took place at the Carisbrook Location. Also at Carisbrook; shotcrete existing walls on the reservoir and cut opening into the wall, installation of new pre-stressed concrete reservoir inside existing reservoir, demolition of existing pumping station and install new pumping station inside existing reservoir.

HARDING DRAIN BYPASS PUMP STATION AND PIPELINE

City of Turlock

SMCI's performance at the Harding Drain site involved the construction of a new pump station and a steel water transmission pipeline with several intermediate cast-in-place junction structures. Project specifics included   welded and push-on steel pipe with blow-off and air vent appurtenances, deep structure excavations, steel pile-and-lagging braced shoring, dewatering of shallow groundwater,  cast-in-place concrete structures, sheet-pile cofferdam installation , riverbank stabilization, a bypass system, base rock road restoration, micro-tunneling beneath TID canal, installation of a pre-engineered metal building,  installation of vertical turbine pumps  and system start-up testing. Additional activities included groundwater discharge to privately owned land, environmental mitigation and SWPPP development and implementation.
